more psp news

i got hold of a sort of secret internal best buy zine outlining how they will handle the launch of the psp. they mentioned the price of the games (us $39.95), what titles they'll be carrying (only 15 of 25), and that the ubercheap $249 tag could cut into their profit margin, which is cool 'cause you know we're getting a deal on it.

a fashion soiree filled with top designers and b-list celebrities revealed on monday a series of one-of-a-kind psp cases, including one made of solid gold and encrusted with seven carats of yellow and black diamonds.

disney's buena vista home entertainment announced recently that it'll be adding 5 of their films to sony's umd movement, with more on the way.

only six days till launch, motherfuckers.

some psp news

the official north american psp site launched yesterday, a mere 20 days from the actual launch of the psp in the us. info includes the complete 25-game list of launch titles, as well as technical specs and details on the value pack.

also of note about the psp this week is that lion's gate has confirmed that it will be releasing some of their films on the psp's umd format, in addition to the films sony will be pressing from its own collection.

sony promises that a million psps will be produced for its march 24th launch date, so hopefully there won't be a shortage of them like there was with the ps2.

we're all fucked

...if we have a zombie attack, as clearly evidenced by this zombie infection simulator. what it doesn't account for, however, is humans killing zombies, which i would most definitely be doing.

mirror mask, corpse bride

from writer neil gaiman (sandman), designer-and-now-director dave mckean (i did a piece on him, viewable here), and special effects shop jim henson company (labyrinth, dark crystal), comes a film i've been waiting for since i read about it in gaiman's blog over a year ago. with some of my favorite people working on it, i can already tell it's going to be one of my favorite films for a very long time. visit the official mirror mask website. make sure to check out the trailer while you're there.

also of note is the upcoming tim burton film, the corpse bride, a stop-motion nightmare before christmas style film which reinterprets what i'm told is a russian fairy tale. view the trailer.
